Every culture has the concept of a "Book of Life" for every soul, impacted and updated in each incarnation. The common term nowadays for this is the Akashic records.
The Akashic records are an eternal collection of all thoughts, words, deeds and intentions, past, present and future stored in the higher dimensions (where time does not exist). The word "akasha" is an ancient sanscrit word for a "cosmic sky" or "aether" (ether or etheric field), believed to be the very air that the gods breathed.
There are many schools of thought as to where the records are situated. Most people believe that the records are held in the 5th dimension, accessible to many with little to no effort due to the way the species as a whole has begun to evolve spiritually with meditation playing a huge part.
Others beleive the records are multi-dimensional and the quality or depth of the knowledge acquired will correspond to the level at which you are capable of connecting with.
